Former Eastlake High School player and current Cal State San Marcos Cougars first baseman, Ben Melendrez, will compete in the NCAA D2 Baseball Championship Tournament.

They begin the tournament as a number five seed against the fourth seeded Cal Poly Pomona Broncos.

The first game is on Thursday, May 16.
