On Friday, Feb. 21, former Mater Dei Catholic High School standout Michaella Salvatierra’s current college team, the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, lost 9-1 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The game took place at John and Ann Rhoads Softball Stadium. This was their first matchup against the Crimson Tide this season.

The Thunderbirds’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. at John and Ann Rhoads Softball Stadium against Virginia Tech Hokies.
